Ours is a very pretty and quiet all grass site in the meadow alongside Crakehall Beck and the Mill race. We plan to re-open the site on 12 April 2021, subject to the gradual lifting of covid restrictions and to remain open until 31 October 2021.
A Caravan & Motorhome Club (CAMC) Certificated Location (CL), site no 1710, listed under Bedale, North Yorkshire.
We have just five pitches, each with an electric hook-up point. Drinking water, a toilet * and chemical disposal point are also provided.
As detailed in the Club Directory we do have a slope on the site and as it is difficult to describe how little / much of a slope there is, we advise members to bring levelling chocks to assist them. Please be aware the field can become wet after heavy rain and then some pitches are more suited to those with 4WD. The site is for adults. Pets are welcome – we ask that they are kept under control on a lead at all times.
* the toilet will be closed at least for the beginning of the 2021 season in line with restrictions on the sharing of facilities. We will review on 17 May when Step 2 of the lifting of the covid restrictions is scheduled. As at Feb 21 we cannot guarantee that we will choose to re-open the toilet if allowed to do so.
The entrance to our drive off the public road is 4.2m wide. For directions please see our entry on CAMC website. There is more than one property with our postcode.
The 2021 rate is £16 per van per night (based on 2 adults) ncluding electricity and we do not charge for awnings. CAMC members only.
There is a footpath leading directly from the site, which is part of a network of footpaths around the village. It is a short stroll to the village green, church and pub. There is also a self service petrol station in the village.
A very convenient location, approx five minutes drive from the A1M Junction 51, and 2 miles from Bedale, with easy access through Wensleydale into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales by car, public transport or via the Wensleydale Railway.
Alternatively, head east to the North York Moors and coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby, or plan a great day in York, taking the train from Northallerton or using the Park & Ride service.
If you have friends who do not caravan perhaps they may enjoy staying in one of our beautiful self-catering holiday cottages here whilst you stay on our CL? – please see our Cottages page.
